Council of Canadians chairperson Maude Barlow was at EnviroCon 2017 at Western University in London, Ontario today.

Barlow spoke about the global water crisis and the battle for the right to water.

The promotion for the event noted, "This conference is hosted by Western's Centre for Environment and Sustainability and is organized by graduate students in the collaborative program. This event aims to bring together the knowledge and research of undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and community members involved in environment and sustainability."

And the conference website highlighted, "This year's EnviroCon will include keynote speaker Maude Barlow, invited speakers, a panel luncheon, student presentations and an environmental booth exhibit!"

Earlier today, the Centre for Environment & Sustainability tweeted, "Proud to see #Envirocon taking part in Int'l Women's day with their all female panel!" And the RESTORE environmental engineering research group at Western University tweeted, "EnviroCon 2017 today! Excellent panel discussion with an all female panel, including Maude Barlow and Dr. Robinson! #InternationalWomensDay."

Barlow received an honorary degree from Western University in June 2005.

The evening prior to the conference, Barlow joined with the Council of Canadians London chapter for a social get-together.

The chapter and Barlow sang "Bread and Roses" together in the kitchen of chapter activists Roberta and Rory Cory while holding an International Women's Day banner made by chapter activist Julie Picken-Cooper.
