The Council of Canadians Comox Valley chapter is promoting our climate solutions action alert on social media.

The chapter has posted on their Facebook page, "Use the link on this page to sign the pledge and join climate solutions movement [ https://secure.canadians.org/ea-action/ ... n.id=68604 ]

The chapter is referring to this blog [ https://canadians.org/blog/3-reasons-wh ... -pipelines ] by Council of Canadians organizer Brigette DePape that says, "Communities continue to call for an urgent transition away from fossil fuels [yet] governments continue to approve and subsidize fossil fuel infrastructure. In response, we can equip ourselves with knowledge and a bold vision for 100% renewable energy by 2050. Be part of the climate solutions movement by signing on here." That action alert says, "Over the coming year, we want to tell the stories that matter to you on the ground and the tangible climate solutions that are already underway. We want to pressure governments to invest in renewable energy, instead of fossil fuel subsidies, and to put workers and communities first. Join us now and tell us why you want to be part of the climate solutions movement!"

In this follow-up blog [ https://canadians.org/blog/council-supp ... utions-all ], Council of Canadians campaigner Daniel Cayley-Daoust shares some of the stories we have heard from you already.

He notes these two comments among many others:

- “Because energy should be a public owned venture. Not for one company's personal profit. To be under the thumb of big oil around every corner of life is despicable. This has gone on for way too long. Very tired of these outright crooks manipulating the people…”

- “Because I am a First Nations Woman who values our Canadian resources and believes that water is life. We must protect it and Mother Earth. Thank you.”

And in this blog [ https://canadians.org/blog/council-supp ... gy-stories ], DePape adds, "It was incredibly inspiring to hear about a solar project on Lasqueti Island in BC, and see a video describing the whole process. The solar project transitioned a public school off of diesel to solar! How amazing is this!"

Be sure to sign on here to share your stories and tell us why you want to be part of the climate solutions movement:
