Christopher Nolan’s 2023 summer blockbuster “Oppenheimer” brought back to the forefront (for many of us) the major and long-lasting ramifications of the flurry of nuclear and thermonuclear tests that were done in the Pacific Island area in the 1950’s and ‘60’s. Dr. Smith has been on the case earlier than almost anyone, and her extensive research has made her an expert in this area.
