KAMLOOPS (NEWS 1130) – A crude oil spill at a Kinder Morgan station north of Kamloops last month was bigger than originally reported.

The Ministry of Environment says the amount leaked at the Darfield Station has been revised up from 100 litres to 4,800 litres.

Kinder Morgan says crews are in the final stages of cleanup at that site. They say they provided an updated volume after using industry-standard calculations.

The Ministry says it’s talked with Kinder Morgan about the “importance of accurate volume reporting”.
