Please take the City of Regina Encampment Survey and show, in whatever way you can, that a) you don’t want encampments taken down unless all residents have been provided with permanent, adequate, appropriate housing; and b) you want the city to support such encampments by providing such services as bathrooms, potable water, and garbage disposal.

Orange Shirt Day is an Indigenous-led grassroots commemorative day intended to raise awareness of the individual, family, and community impacts of residential schools, and to promote the concept of “Every Child Matters.” The orange shirt is a symbol of the stripping away of culture, freedom, and self-esteem experienced by Indigenous children over generations. 1) Mâmawêyatitân Centre: 9:00 am Pipe Ceremony; 10:30 am Program; 12:30 pm lunch
Join MCoS and EDIN (Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Network) to remember the small children who were ripped from their families and struggled in residential schools for years. Orange Shirt Day means we recognize in particular those children who did not survive and those who “walk between,” no longer comfortable on their own lands and discriminated against in society.

2. Mackenzie Art Gallery – 11 am- 5:30 pm, free day; hourly tours of Indian Theater: Native Performance, Art Art, and Self-Determination since 1969

Join us on Oct. 22 to hear the firsthand experiences of Dr. Deirdre Nunan, a Saskatchewan-trained orthopaedic surgeon who has spent much of the past decade working in international humanitarian contexts. She has spent nearly two years working in Gaza, including on three occasions during the past year. She recently returned from working at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, Gaza. When in Canada, she works in Moose Jaw.
