FRIDAY JANARY 23, 1 – 2 pm: STUDENTS FOR JUSTICE IN PALESTINE TEACH-IN, UNIVERSITY OF REGINA, MAIN (ARCHER) LIBRARY, ROOMS 107.32 & 107.33—BACK OF THE MAIN FLOOR
Please Join Students for Justice in Palestine in the first of a series of teach-ins facilitated by members of Faculty for Palestine Regina, with a guest speaker from Librarians and Archivists with Palestine, followed by a demonstration of traditional dumbek drums.

SATURDAY JANUARY 24, 5 – 8 pm: TRANSIT TOWNHALL, WESTMINSTER UNITED CHURCH, 3025 13TH AVE—Use Cameron St. door
City Council is set to approve a 10% fare hike, and we're bringing people together to celebrate what transit means to Regina and ask Council to keep it affordable.
Here's what's happening:
5pm to 6pm: Free community supper
6pm to 8pm: Town hall with speakers, stories, and letter writing to Council
Come out and strategize about how to stop the threatened increase to Transit fares.

In this edition of Project of Heart, participants will learn about the health care that the children detained at the Qu’Appelle Industrial School received. This includes care provided by the school’s staff, along with other services and public health initiatives, such as the File Hills Colony Hospital, the Fort Qu’Appelle Sanatorium, and the Fort Qu’Appelle Indian Hospital. They will also hear about the Church’s and the State’s motivations for providing these services, while actively seeking to suppress local forms of knowledge and healing practices.

The exhibition Unsilenced features work by Richard Boulet, Ruth Cuthand, Amy Snider, and Peter Tucker. It explores the often silenced or stigmatized topic of mental health through diverse perspectives and artistic media in the form of beading, fibre art, painting, sculpture and ceramic installation. A spotlight on mental health or wellness in Canada is timely, given the rising levels of anxiety in children and youth, about 1 in 5 Canadians experiencing a mental health challenge annually, and 1 in 3 affected in their lifetime, impacting daily functioning, work, and social life. The exhibition and its programming speak to the power of art as a method of exploring, processing and offering opportunities for meaningful dialogue on personal and collective experiences of mental health issues. The exhibition will run until May 3.
