EVENTS, WEBINARS, TV PROGRAMS, & FILMS:

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 5, NOON: RALLY AGAINST GENOCIDE, CANADA REVENUE AGENCY, 1955 SCARTH ST
Background:
On International Day of Charity call on the Canada Revenue Agency to stop subsidizing genocide. In a positive step the CRA recently revoked the charitable status of the Jewish National Fund and Ne’eman Foundation. But, the JNF and Ne’eman Foundation are but two of dozens of Israel-focused charities in Canada that have violated CRA rules by assisting colonies in the West Bank, racist organizations and the Israeli military.
Over the past two years detailed formal complaints have been submitted to the CRA asking it to investigate a dozen other Israel-focused charities, including the Canadian Zionist Cultural Association, Mizrachi Canada, Jerusalem Heritage Foundation of Canada and HESEG Foundation. The CRA should revoke these organizations’ charitable status and investigate dozens of others assisting West Bank colonies and the Israeli military.
200+ registered charities funnel over a quarter billion dollars in subsidized donations to Israel annually, which has a per capita GDP equal to Canada’s. As NDP revenue critic Niki Ashton recently posted “Not one cent of Canadian tax dollars should be funding genocide.”
Across Canada these demonstrations are being organized by Just Peace Advocates and many of the groups associated with the Boycott, Divestment, Coalition. In Regina the rally is being organized by the Regina Peace Council. We welcome other groups to join us. - Sponsored by Regina Peace Council

TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 10. 6 pm: MARKING WORLD SUICIDE DAY, VICTORIA PARK
Caring Hearts is the only organization in Saskatchewan, and one of only few in Canada offering and specializing in grief, loss, and trauma support services and education.
September 10th marks World Suicide Awareness Day and we invite you to attend our event being held in Regina at 6:00 PM in Central Park (15th Avenue and Scarth Street).
Did you know that

• Saskatchewan has the highest rate of death by suicide for any Canadian province behind the three territories.

• Every day, Caring Hearts supports families and communities through traumatic losses like a death by suicide, among others. To demonstrate our impact, we recently received two urgent weekend calls from the Regina Police Service to support individuals impacted by a suicide loss who were requiring immediate support. Within two days, Caring Hearts had them through our intake and into care. This is just one example of the ongoing timeliness and significance of our support and how we help save lives during people’s most difficult experiences.

• Alongside our grief and loss supports, we provide extensive education on grief, trauma, and intergenerational trauma across the province, including to many of our remote First Nations communities.

• Caring hearts is small but mighty! We do all of this through grants and fundraising as we do not yet have sustainable avenues of funding in place.

It is our hope to have you join us on September 10th at 6:00 PM in Regina’s Central Park (15th Ave and Scarth Street). Please find the attached poster for more details.
