Join us in calling for an end to Canada’s complicity in the genocide in Palestine and a comprehensive arms embargo on Israel. From 1-2PM we will have face paint and art-making stations set up in front of City Hall (weather permitting – all ages welcome!), and at 2PM we will have a rally and short march downtown.

Join us for a panel discussion about the significance of renaming Dewdney Avenue. Panelists include Joanne Farmer from Ignite and Joely BigEagle-Kequahtooway, who has been fighting for this name change for years.

Following, Florence Stratton will provide delegation training for folks who would like to speak at City Council on June 12.

Join us for a screening of Annemarie Jacir’s award-winning film, SALT OF THIS SEA.
Soraya, born in Brooklyn in a working class community of Palestinian refugees, discovers that her grandfather’s savings were frozen in a bank account in Jaffa when he was exiled in 1948. Stubborn, passionate and determined to reclaim what is hers, she fulfills her life-long dream of “returning” to Palestine. Once there, slowly she is taken apart by the reality around her and is forced to confront her own anger. She meets Emad, a young Palestinian whose ambition, contrary to hers, is to leave forever. Tired of the constraints that dictate their lives, they know in order to be free, they must take things into their own hands, even if it’s illegal. In this quest for life, we follow their trail through the remains of Palestine. Featuring Palestinian poet Suheir Hammad and Palestinian star Saleh Baki in their first lead roles.
This event is hosted by Palestine Solidarity Regina.
