Edited by Emily Grafton, Jérôme Melançon, Alyssa Parker, and Ibukun-Oluwa Fasunhan, this open access electronic book Canadian Settler Colonialism: Reliving the Past, Opening New Paths, published by University of Regina OEP Program, offers an eclectic yet unified collection of essays in the study of settler colonialism which extend across the disciplines of Indigenous studies, political science, sociology, philosophy, and literature. The book includes consideration on topics such as history, criminal justice, slavery, immigration, identity, and social movements. The editorial team and contributors to the volume will present the reason for and the contents of the book.

The Regina Japanese Cultural Club is pleased to work with the Regina Public Library to bring human rights activist, Art Miki, for a Conversation on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 from 6:30 to 8:30. A former president of the National Association of Japanese Canadians, Art Miki negotiated for Redress for Japanese Canadians with the Mulroney government in 1988. Art will be reading from (and selling) his new book, Gaman: Perseverance, Japanese Canadians' Journey to Justice. Art's memoir talks about his forebears coming to Canada, his parents being born in Canada, and the infamous dispersal and dispossession of Japanese Canadians in the Second World War. The film will be introduced by Melanie Rose, a Regina-based artist and educator with family in Israel's prison.
