SPECIAL PETITION: RENAME DEWDNEY AVENUE “TATANGA (BUFFALO) AVENUE”
This petition is a follow-up to several earlier petitions asking for the name of Dewdney Avenue to be changed. How can we have one of the main roadways in our city named after a man who was the author and/or implementer of a number of genocidal policies!
The petition is attached. It is a paper petition. Please print it off and start collecting signatures. Please also forward it to all your contacts.
If you are unable to print the petition, there are copies on the table on my veranda: 2818-19th Ave.
SPECIAL LETTER: FOR THOSE WHO ARE OCCASIONAL SHOPPERS AT SHERWOOD CO-OP, BUT NOT MEMBERS
If you are not a member of Sherwood Co-op, but do occasionally shop there, please print off, sign, put in an envelope, and send in the mail the attached letter calling on Sherwood Co-op to remove any and all products from Israel from its shelves.
UPDATE: PETITION TO 13TH AVENUE SAFEWAY TO STOP STOCKING PRODUCE FROM ISRAEL
The "Safeway Petition to stop stocking Israeli fruit" was delivered to management at 13th Avenue Safeway earlier this week. It had been signed by over 200 13th Avenue Safeway customers. Management was asked to stop stocking Israeli products and to take this up the corporate ladder. It was calculated, based on the petition signatories, that those 200 customers together spend approximately $76,000 per month at that store. Management was advised that there will be further action if Safeway doesn’t change its ordering practices by the fall.

The theme of the forum will be "Protecting Prairie Waters, Habitats and Health." The keynote speaker will be Dr. Peter Leavitt who will talk about his latest research on the health of prairie waters.
There will also be a panel of speakers dealing with many topics including concentration of ownership of agricultural land, farmers' concerns regarding lack of drainage regulations, Indigenous land rights, data centres, the need to address the growing dependence on fossil fuels for our electrical grid, youth climate action, and more. All are welcome.
