KURTENBACH: Israel's policies for Palestine

To the Editor

July 26, 2014

Most recent reports have stated that more than 800 Palestinians have been killed, thousands injured, including women and children caused by Israeli air strikes on Gaza. To date, 13 Israeli soldiers have been killed since Israeli forces recently invaded Gaza. Fewer than 20 Israeli civilians have been killed or injured by rockets launched by Palestinians into Israel. What Israel's present leaders are doing to Palestinians is not supported by many Jewish people in other parts of the world and probably not supported by all citizens of Israel.

The US supports Israel financially with about $3 billion dollars annually.

Our present Canadian government unquestioningly supports Israel and provides financial funds to assist Israel in the expansion of settlements in Palestinian territory. Our Prime-Minister Stephen Harper and his Minister of Foreign Affairs, John Baird, have been most vehement in their support of the murderous attacks on the citizens of Palestine.

It is appropriate to question: why is this all happening?

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel has stated, "we do not know where this operation will end."

At the beginning of this latest attack on Gaza, on July 14th, Netanyahu told the people of Israel that, "It will be a long struggle".

May I humbly suggest that the struggle he (Netanyahu) is referring to is the eventual subjection of Hamas, the displacement or removal of most of the Palestinian people, and unless the global community strongly objects, Israel's present leaders will take over complete control of the West Bank.

This would be the prelude to the New World Order by global financial interests, aided by an American group named "Project for a New American Century, (PNAC); Israel would become the greatest financial and military power in the Middle East, being served by Canada, the US and NATO.

Should Canada really allow its political future to be aligned with Prime Minister Netanyahu and his supporters?
