If you’re worried about disinformation and manipulation in this election, it might be wise to stay clear of coverage by CTV National. They've made it clear that they are not in the business of offending Pierre Poilievre or his online posse.

CTV's Your Morning announced they would host a weekly segment on how disinformation was playing out in the federal election campaign. They picked journalist Rachel Gilmore - a wise choice, as she specializes in exposing disinformation and conspiracy.

The response from the Conservative war room was immediate and dirty.

Sebastian Skamski, a senior player on Team Poilievre, attacked CTV for hiring a journalist that they accused of being a "disgraced disinformation peddler" who would be able to "lie directly to their viewers."

The pitchfork mob did their job. CTV was so panicked by the harassment that they shut down the media segment.
