On this 80th anniversary, the fascists are on the move. They have already taken Washington. Where they go from here is far from clear.
I think of the people of the Netherlands who have never forgotten what it means to live under fascist rule. And I thank the German government for doing their part to stem the tide today.
As for Canada, we must honour the sacrifice so many of our relatives made.
They paid the price so that we would never have face-down fascist violence again. It's up to us to do our part.
Red and white.
Remember those colours. They mean something, especially now in a dark age of fascism and xenophobic hate."
