Green Party Leader Elizabeth May holds a news conference in Sidney, British Columbia, to respond to U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent threat of imposing 35% tariffs on Canadian goods. The tariffs are scheduled to come into effect on August 1st. (no interpretation)

EXCERPT: "In response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s threats to increase Canadian tariffs, one Vancouver Island Member of Parliament is calling on the Prime Minister to drop the gloves and hit Trump where it hurts: the potash industry.

“We know that in the United States, farmers that have deep roots in the U.S. Republican Party,” said Saanich-Gulf Islands member of Parliament Elizabeth May.

“That represents another vulnerable fleshy spot in Trump’s bullying tactics. We need to bite deep there so he feels some pain and decides it would be a good idea to drop the tariffs on Canada.” . . . ."
