"It took the near-death of eight young people to force Keir Starmer to do the right thing.

The UK Labour government has now agreed to stop funnelling money to the Israeli arms subsidiary Elbit Systems UK. The British government moved only after being shamed by immense public pressure - including from so many in our resistance movement.

Such courage and determination in these dark times is deeply moving.

This morning, as I write this follow-up piece, I can’t help but think of the words of Dietrich Bonhoeffer:

“We are not to simply bandage the wounds of victims beneath the wheels of injustice, we are to drive a spoke into the wheel itself.”

This is what happened here.
