Yesterday, the federal government released its 2015 budget—and it’s not the budget that our country needs.

While it’s no surprise that this budget will prolong austerity, increase inequality and do nothing to address climate change, it is profoundly disappointing that it diverges so greatly from what Canadians need at this time.

Canadians need a budget that targets the problems that they are facing (like stagnant incomes, record high household debt, and a lack of affordable child care), and takes responsibility for providing stimulus to a clearly flagging economy.

Since its release, we've been hard at work analyzing the budget and what it means for our country. Visit our Federal Budget Analysis page to read commentary and organizational responses from the CCPA and our Alternative Federal Budget partners.
