ANGUS: Torture State USA

Charlie Angus / The Resistance - December 19, 2025 - (SEE LINK to Amnesty Int'l Report below . . . . )

EXCERPT: "According to a new investigation by Amnesty International, “the box” has come home to the United States.

It is now one of the preferred tools for abusing people the president has called human “garbage” and a “poison on the blood” of America. These are people who have been charged with no crimes. People kidnapped and detained despite having met the legal requirements for sanctuary in the United States. . . .

In a recent Globe and Mail article, Pitzer writes that Trump is creating a system of gulags beyond the rule of American law:

“If they [MAGA] can establish rendition and arbitrary overseas detention for one group… history shows that they will likely expand the categories of people they can subject to the same treatment.”

I have long warned that the dehumanizing language used by Trump and MAGA would inevitably lead to torture and abuse. Amnesty International has now confirmed it.

Ana Piquer of Amnesty states, “These findings confirm a deliberate system built to punish, dehumanize and hide the suffering of people in detention.”

The American Dachau is becoming entrenched in the United States. Unless dramatic steps are taken to re-establish the rule of law, you can expect that the levels of abuse will continue to grow and the lives of the disappeared will become much more expendable in the eyes of the American state.

This is the fascist playbook.

It is being played out before our eyes."

REPORT: "Torture and enforced disappearances in the Sunshine State: Human rights violations at “Alligator Alcatraz” and Krome in Florida" - AMR 51/0511/2025 . . . . .

EXCERPT: "I. Executive summary This report presents Amnesty International’s findings from a research trip to southern Florida in September 2025, to document the human rights impacts of federal and state migration and asylum policies on mass detention and deportation, access to due process, and detention conditions since President Trump took office on 20 January 2025. In particular, it focuses on detention conditions at the Krome North Service Processing Center (Krome) and the Everglades Detention Facility, also known as “Alligator Alcatraz”.1 Amnesty International visited Krome on 25 September 2025. The organization also requested access to “Alligator Alcatraz”, receiving no response from Florida authorities, and to the Glades County Detention Center, which U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) denied. . . . . ."
