Since its inception, the Council of Canadians has built its strength and credibility with powerful grassroots activists in communities across Canada. Chapters promote local, provincial and national Council of Canadians campaigns, hold governments to account, and push for social and economic justice on a daily basis.

•St. John’s Chapter, Single-use plastics: Letter to government requesting a provincial ban on single-use plastic bags, October 31, 2018

•After hosting a three-stop tour against Site C across Treaty 8 territory with expert and activist Wendy Holm, the NWT chapter wrote a letter to federal, territorial, and Indigenous leaders calling for action given the downstream impacts of the project for their region.
