Former Prairie agriculture agency recognized

The Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Administration operated from 1935 to 2013 and is now considered of national historic importance

The Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Administration (PFRA) was formed in the 1930s to support prairie farmers by implementing soil conservation and water management programs, and community pastures. The community pastures preserved native prairie and species for many decades and these lands continue to do so. The establishment of the PFRA is now considered an event of national historic significance in Canada.

PPPI successfully stood up for and garnered public support for retaining public ownership of the PFRA pasture lands. PPPI contributed to the report on the PFRA and its role in Canadian history.
