To the Editor,

American Inspiration

Prime Minister Harper has repeatedly told Canadians he needs a majority to implement his Conservative programs.

In 1997, as vice-president of Canada's National Citizen's Coalition, he was invited to speak to a rather secretive American think-tank group, the Council for National Policy [CNP]; it unites right-wing billionaires with politicians and fundamentalist Christian activists.

In his speech to the CNP, Harper made three distinct rather disparaging remarks about Canada. But the fourth remark was the clincher. It was this: "Your [American] conservative movement is a light and an inspiration in Canada and around the world."

American voters have allowed their unregulated privately owned Federal Reserve Bank and global financial interests to engineer this global recession.

In 1791, Mayer Amshel Bauer Rothschild, who established the world's most powerful banking dynasty said this: "Allow me to issue and control a nation's currency, and I care not who makes the laws."

The following is a contemporary example of how the above works: When this recession really hit home in the US, 1.7 million homes were facing foreclosures. The US Congress had a majority with 60 Democrats. They sponsored a bill allocating 300 billion dollars to renegotiate the foreclosures. The bill was defeated by a vote of 51 to 45.

How did that happen?

Financial interests poured money into the campaign coffers of seven Democrat senators. They are as follows: Jon Testor [Mont]--$500,000; Max Baucus [Mont]--$ 3.5 million; [M]. Blanche Lincoln [Ark]--$1.3 M; Ben Nelson [Neb]--$1.4 M; Many Landrieu [La]--$2 M; Tim Johnson [SD]--$2.5 M; Arlan Spector [Pa], a recent Republican turned Democrat, $4.5 M.

This was followed by a $787 billion [possibly more] stimulus package to Wall Street and other financial
interests.

How's that for "American light and inspiration" ?
