MAKING PEACE VIGIL Newsletter - April 9, 2026


UPDATE: REGINA CUBA SOLIDARITY COMMITTEE
The Cuba Solidarity Committee of Regina is pleased to announce that we raised $2,570 to donate to Cuba. The committee decided to donate the money to the Canadian Network on Cuba (CNC) to assist with an on- going campaign to send containers of aid to the island and also to contribute to the energy supplies initiative. Thank you all so much for your contributions and support. It is clear that Regina does not support US imperialist aggression and that we are a community
dedicated to peace. Further update: Your generous donations to the CNC are paying for the shipping of another container, packed this weekend in Hockley Valley, Ontario and destined for Caibarién/Santa Clara.
This contains food and medical supplies, including sutures, scalpels, surgical instruments, IVs, needles, and much more, gathered by Not Just Tourists, Friends of Sanctuary, the Juan Gualberto Gómez Association, and many other supporters of the Cuban people. 
Shipping is sorted for our March container, which will leave Atlantic Canada for Cuba on April 15th. Containers 4 Cuba will be covering the shipping for this container, and we’re securing supplies for another shipment to be packed later this month including much needed EcoFlow generators.

Climate activists from Regina and Saskatoon will come together on April 17th in Regina to support an appeal of a climate change court case. Drop by the courthouse anytime between 10 am and noon to show your support. The case was launched by seven Saskatchewan residents and Climate Justice Saskatoon three years ago. They claim the Saskatchewan Government violated their Charter rights by expanding gas-fired electricity generation. A justice with the Court of King’s Bench dismissed the case in October of last year.
