We'll describe what we do and then have a facilitated discussion on the topic of ecostress. The Speaker Series features speakers who have experience and insight into how cities can maintain and build vibrancy and prosperity in our communities and the importance of public and private investment in our central cities.

Pilar Martinez, CEO of Edmonton Public Libraries and Carol Belanger, City Architect for the City of Edmonton, will share their successes and lessons learned in expanding the Edmonton Public Library and the importance of libraries in community, including:

The new role libraries play in society
Libraries as catalysts for investment
Libraries as sources of community pride
Libraries and placemaking
Cost effective design and civic buildings

Jamie Reynolds is an Indigenous artist and educator from Pasqua First Nation. Her work ranges from the abstract to realism, often a combination of the two, and is inspired by dreams, nature and history. She has spent the last decade teaching, creating, facilitating, working, curating, administrating, painting, building, sculpting and learning in the arts community.
As an extension of Prince Albert ICARE’s Colonialism on Canvas event, Regina participants will have the opportunity to use art as a medium to explore how settler colonialism has shaped their identity in Saskatchewan. Our goal is to create an environment where everyone feels safe to discuss the effects of settler colonialism in their lives through sharing experiences and creating new ones.
