A big thanks to everyone who supported the encampment at Pepsi Park, while it lasted. The food, clothing, $ +++ were so very much appreciated! Where are unhoused people supposed to go!!! The powers that be don’t seem to really care what happens to them. We who are lucky enough to be housed will carry on the struggle for social justice: HOUSING FOR ALL! HOUSING IS A HUMAN RIGHT! The campaign to prevent the expansion of the Bell Data Centre in Regina is at a crucial crossroads. The last meeting of the RM of Sherwood council before the election will take place on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the RM of Sherwood office. We are planning a protest that morning to oppose the AI data centre expansion, and we have updated our campaign Google Form so you can sign up to attend.

MONDAY NOVEMBER 16, 10 am, REGINA ANTI-POVERTY MINISTRY CHARTER CHALLENGE AT THE SASK. COURT OF APPEALS, 2425 VICTORIA AVE
On May 25, 2025, RAPM’s lawyers, Dan LeBlanc and Leif Jenson, filed an appeal of Judge Clackson’s ruling that mandatory withdrawal of early CPP in order to maintain SAID benefits does not violate the Charter. In essence, the appeal was an attempt to sue the provincial government for forcing people to take CPP out early—a move that has lasting negative effects, including the loss of 36% of CPP income after the age of 65.
Lots of people are needed to show where the public stands. Saskatchewan and New Brunswick are the last provinces to force people with disabilities to take out early CPP.

The Faculty of Arts invites you to attend the 2026 Stapleford Lecture with guest lecturer Dr. Mél Hogan, Film and Media Professor at Queen's University. This is a talk about the growing resistance to AI data centre proposals in Canada: how data centres became such a hot topic and what it means to push back against them. Canadians are largely opposed to data centres being built (anywhere, but especially in their communities), while many politicians of various stripes are trying to sell the public on AI’s inevitability – and local data centres as a way to ensure ‘data sovereignty’ in times of more obvious and overt big tech fascism. This talk puts forward an idea of resistance through conceiving of AI data centres as ‘data refineries’ to more fully understand them as the processing plants they are, converting our (personal, collective) data into products of value for big tech companies.

We are living in paradoxical times. Whilst human possibilities seem to be expanding on a scale and at a pace never before experienced, humanity as a whole is unable to find solutions to pressing problems such as war, poverty, the nuclear threat, natural disasters and violence, which manifests itself in various forms in both the social and personal spheres.
Deep inside, people feel a profound sense of uncertainty about the future. In response to this, whilst some seek refuge in lost paradises, new generations are rising up across the globe, demanding a strong change of direction.
At the same time, numerous collective efforts towards positive transformation are emerging, which could form the seeds of change on a larger scale. All these initiatives can be strengthened through exchange and coordination within a common project, based on a structural and systemic understanding that goes beyond the limitations of each specific issue.
This is the general framework set out by the World Humanist Forum for its sixth Open Assembly, to be held on 28 and 29 November 2026 under the title ‘Opening up the Future: Change is possible and depends on our action’.

On May 25, 2025, RAPM’s lawyers, Dan LeBlanc and Leif Jenson, filed an appeal of Judge Clackson’s ruling that mandatory withdrawal of early CPP in order to maintain SAID benefits does not violate the Charter. In essence, the appeal was an attempt to sue the provincial government for forcing people to take CPP out early—a move that has lasting negative effects, including the loss of 36% of CPP income after the age of 65.
Lots of people are needed to show where the public stands. Saskatchewan and New Brunswick are the last provinces to force people with disabilities to take out early CPP.

The Faculty of Arts invites you to attend the 2026 Stapleford Lecture with guest lecturer Dr. Mél Hogan, Film and Media Professor at Queen's University. This is a talk about the growing resistance to AI data centre proposals in Canada: how data centres became such a hot topic and what it means to push back against them. Canadians are largely opposed to data centres being built (anywhere, but especially in their communities), while many politicians of various stripes are trying to sell the public on AI’s inevitability – and local data centres as a way to ensure ‘data sovereignty’ in times of more obvious and overt big tech fascism. This talk puts forward an idea of resistance through conceiving of AI data centres as ‘data refineries’ to more fully understand them as the processing plants they are, converting our (personal, collective) data into products of value for big tech companies.

We are living in paradoxical times. Whilst human possibilities seem to be expanding on a scale and at a pace never before experienced, humanity as a whole is unable to find solutions to pressing problems such as war, poverty, the nuclear threat, natural disasters and violence, which manifests itself in various forms in both the social and personal spheres.
Deep inside, people feel a profound sense of uncertainty about the future. In response to this, whilst some seek refuge in lost paradises, new generations are rising up across the globe, demanding a strong change of direction.
At the same time, numerous collective efforts towards positive transformation are emerging, which could form the seeds of change on a larger scale. All these initiatives can be strengthened through exchange and coordination within a common project, based on a structural and systemic understanding that goes beyond the limitations of each specific issue.
This is the general framework set out by the World Humanist Forum for its sixth Open Assembly, to be held on 28 and 29 November 2026 under the title ‘Opening up the Future: Change is possible and depends on our action’.
