ANGUS: This Week in Resistance - A Curated Video Selection from Meidas Canada Network — February 8 to 14, 2026

EXCERPT: "We began the week with a discussion about how Trump is sending very clear signals that he intends to strong-arm Canada into purchasing the F-35. The move comes as the U.S. initiates a massive increase in military spending in order to shakedown other nations. This is a line-in-the-sand movement for Canada. If we are serious about our sovereignty, Ottawa must move quickly to establish an independent military procurement strategy — and that means saying no to the F-35.

From there, we left the cold of northern Ontario to visit the Bay & Bloor chapter of Grandmothers Against Genocide in Toronto. While media’s attention has shifted, ongoing breaches of international law and violations of the Geneva Convention persist, largely unaddressed by the international community. As Western governments fail to meet their obligations, it falls to ordinary people to speak up and remind us all of our responsibilities.

We spoke with our partners at Meidas Touch about Donald Trump’s threats to the Gordie Howe International Bridge — a critical trade route for $700 billion in goods each year. Canada invested billions to secure our own crossing and protect our sovereignty. Trump’s threat is a direct challenge to that sovereignty and a classic mob-style tactic.

Finally, in response to so many of you reaching out about Roshel’s contract to supply armoured vehicles to ICE, we invited MP Heather McPherson onto the show to talk about Canada’s legal obligations. If there is a risk that these vehicles could be used against unarmed citizens, the government has a duty to act. Prime Minister Carney has a legal obligation to cancel the export permits."
