You may think myth is an odd way to analyze an industry based on tonnage, engineering, and the bottom line. But the mining sector has always been driven by myths and lore: stories of hidden wealth, heroic prospectors, untamed wilderness, and the promise of striking it rich.

What has received far less attention are the myths that explain the Indigenous views on the impact of these industries.
