What you need to know about the SNC-Lavalin affair

QUOTE: "Engineering giant's legal troubles have spread to Justin Trudeau and the Liberals"

Mark Gollom · CBC News · Posted: Feb 13, 2019 6:26 PM CST | Last Updated: September 26, 2019

EXCERPT: "What's alleged about the PM?

In a conversation with Trudeau on Sept. 17, 2018, and with Wernick in attendance, Wilson-Raybould claimed the prime minister told her they need to find a solution for SNC-Lavalin. She said he told her many jobs would be lost without a DPA, and that the company would move from Montreal, that an election was coming up in Quebec and that he was an MP for that province.

"I was quite taken aback. My response — and I remember this vividly as well — was to ask the prime minister a direct question while looking him in the eye. I asked: "Are you politically interfering with my role, my decision as the attorney general? I would strongly advise against it.

"The prime minister said, 'No, no, no – we just need to find a solution.'" . . . . ."
