Grandmothers Against Genocide

EXCERPT: "My mother is organizing her first-ever protest. And if you’re anywhere near the Toronto area maybe you can help.

On Wednesday at 8 AM, she will stand on the corner of Yonge and Bloor in Toronto with her walker and a sign that reads: "Grandmothers Against Genocide."

My mother has never been involved in anything political in her life. But she is so overwhelmed by the violence and starvation being inflicted on the families of Gaza that she feels she needs to do something.

My mom explained her reasoning to me: "When I read that the Palestinian mothers are so hungry that their babies are being born blind, I knew that as a grandmother, I needed to help."

It should be the responsibility of the international community to stand up to crimes against humanity. Western governments could easily put an end to this through boycotts and a push for peacekeepers. They could empower the International War Crimes Commission and the International Criminal Court.

But that hasn't happened. . . . ."
