Many people are wondering what exactly are the policies of the federal party leaders concerning the CBC.

Well, we’re about to find out.

We have invited each of the five leaders whose parties hold seats in the House of Commons to participate in 30-minute webcasts – one in French and one in English - in order to convey to FRIENDS’ one-third of a million supporters their views and policies about CBC’s future.

During this series of interviews, we will hear the federal party leaders complete the phrase “If I were Prime Minister, the CBC would be…”

Please mark Sunday, March 1st at 5pm EST on your calendar.

That’s when we will webcast Don Newman's one-on-one interview with Elizabeth May, the Leader of the Green Party of Canada in this exclusive FRIENDS production:

Don, the former senior parliamentary editor for CBC Television and host of the daily politics program CBC News: Politics, has already interviewed Thomas Mulcair and will quiz the other federal party leaders about where they stand on the future of our national public broadcaster, the CBC at a future date.

A French language interview conducted by Francine Pelletier will follow at 5:30 EST.

If you have a question you’d like Don to ask Ms. May, tweet it using the hashtag #wevotecbc or send it to wevotecbc@friends.ca.

Thomas Mulcair, the Leader of the Official Opposition and the NDP, was the first to accept our invitation and was interviewed on February 2nd. You can view the archived webcast here :
