SPECIAL EVENT: MONDAY APRIL 6, NOON, REGINA CITY HALL COURTYARD, PEACE WAVE
The Peace Wave is an international event that has been held for the past few years on Easter Monday. It involves gathering together and lighting lights for peace. This year, more than 1.5 million lights (little battery candles, flashlights, etc) will be lit worldwide to promote tolerance, environmental protection, and world peace. FRIDAY APRIL 17, 10 am –? CLIMATE ACTIVISTS TAKE THE SASK GOVERNMENT TO COURT, COURT OF KING’S BENCH, 2425 VICTORIA AVE
Climate activists from Regina and Saskatoon will come together on April 17th in Regina to support an appeal of a climate change court case. Drop by the courthouse anytime between 10 am and noon to show your support. The case was launched by seven Saskatchewan residents and Climate Justice Saskatoon three years ago. They claim the Saskatchewan Government violated their Charter rights by expanding gas-fired electricity generation. A justice with the Court of King’s Bench dismissed the case in October of last year.
